JumpStart for First Year Law Students

Jumpstart is a collaboration between JTB-APO, Chicago Consortium of Diversity Professionals, Chicago Committee on Minorities in Law Law Firms, Minority Legal Education Resources, Inc. and the Council on Legal Education Opportunity. The three-day law school “preview” will help prepare first-year law students for their first year of law school. The program will: (1) provide a general overview of what to expect in law school, including a discussion of the structure of law school and legal philosophy and the purpose of the Socratic Method; (2) engage in a comprehensive discussion of the key components of law school that are crucial to academic success, including class preparation, note-taking, time and stress management, exam writing and (3) host a federal court day and introduction to networking reception.

The 2016 program application period has now closed.  Please visit us again in Spring 2017 for details about the 2017 program.
