Impact

In 2016, our school-year programs alone served more than 300 students. JTB’s signature school year programs include interactive workshops in a school setting and arranging for students to visit courthouses. Our 2016 summer programs successfully served 246 students. JTB also placed 25 diverse law students in federal judicial internships to allow them the unique opportunity to see the inner-workings of a judge’s chambers and enhance their legal research and writing skills.

Just The Beginning is in its 7th year of running our Summer Judicial Internship Diversity Project. The purpose of the JRC-JTB Project is to place highly-qualified minority, underrepresented and economically disadvantaged law students in the chambers of judges for summer internships. The Project has been a tremendous success—in 2017, we had 100 judges participate and placed over 62 interns, and since 2011 we have placed close to 400 law students in judicial internships nationwide. Applications for the 2018 SJID Project are now closed.  To find out more information, please click here.

We are located in several cities across the United States. Our Programs reach all aspects of the pipeline through programs aimed at students from middle school through law school.
